Lan Truong is a senior at the University of Michigan in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. Born in Wichita, Kansas, Lan and her family spent several years moving around the United States before coming to Michigan. She lived in Hawaii before coming to Michigan and still doesn’t understand how she ended up here; she likes to think that her parents are spies and that they had to relocate to Michigan to protect themselves and their children. They figured that Michigan was a safe place to go; with all the snow and frigid temperatures, no one would be crazy enough to follow them here. No one has followed them here yet.

Lan is majoring in Communication Studies and Psychology and finds that these two areas of study overlap a great deal; she isn’t sure how she feels about this. After graduation Lan plans on going to art school to pursue a degree in communications or product packaging design. She’s currently putting together her applications and portfolio for art school and has never been more stressed. She has taken to eating potatoes at least twice a week to help her manage her stress.

Lan’s greatest fear is having her teeth fall out. She really likes getting mail and her favorite color is yellow.
