Got back to Ann Arbor a few hours ago and am now attempting to get some homework done.  It’s going to be a long night, folks.  Oh, and my headphones are starting to hurt my ears.  A sign that I need to cut back on listening to music?  I think I’ll take it as a sign that I need new headphones.

The list:

1) Ever want to learn Adobe Illustrator in 30 days?  I haven’t been able to make use of this resource yet because of my horrible schedule (even though the tutorials are only about 20 minutes long), but I’m definitely going to give it a go this summer.

2) And this poster makes me happy.

Keeping this blog updated is a lot easier than I thought it was going to be.

My friend and I got a lot accomplished earlier tonight. We spent two hours working on translating our outlines into American Sign Language. Presentations start tomorrow, and I hope to get it out of the way then.

I was looking just looking at my bookshelf and realized that I have a book from the district library that I’ve renewed 14 times! It’s The Memory Keeper’s Daughter and I’ve had it checked out since May 2008. Whoa. I remember that I decided to read this book after a friend told me that it was a good book, and after reading reviews of it in magazines.

My friend was wrong. And so were the magazines. I don’t think the book’s that good. But I got through half of it over the summer (I haven’t touched it since then) and I hate leaving books half-read. I just haven’t had anytime to do some leisure reading. All my time’s taken up by class readings. Err.

Though I wouldn’t necessarily call getting through this book leisure reading.

But I am going to finish that book if it’s the last thing I do, no matter how boring it is. Summer’s not too far away, maybe I’ll pick it up again then.

I need to do my laundry soon. I’m running dangerously low on socks.

Chictopia.com has five fashion blogs, so you’re sure to find one that fits you. Visit their everybodyisugly blog for great tips on dressing for an interview.

I have their tips bookmarked, and think you should too.

Unless your a guy. Then you probably shouldn’t bookmark these tips. But don’t worry guys, chictopia.com has a blog dedicated just for you! ! Remember, they have five blogs. Visit maleugly for fashion advice.

2) Symbol Signs from AIGA: “The complete set of 50 passenger/pedestrian symbols developed by AIGA is now available on the web, free of charge. Signs are available in EPS and GIF formats.”

I was so excited when I found this on twitter. I’m such a dork.

It’s wet out, and it’s really cold, but it’s refreshing. I managed to get a good amount of work done today for classes, and my to-do list is becoming shorter and shorter. I love crossing out things on my to-do list–it makes me feel very productive.

I had some red bean mochi ice cream today! I haven’t had mochi ice cream for a few months and forgot how delicious it was. I’ll have to have some again soon. If you haven’t tried mochi ice cream before, you’re missing out!

1) Chris Spooner is a graphic and web designer based in the UK and has compiled this amazing list of tutorials: 50 Illustrator Tutorials Every Designer Should See. I’ve found the “How to Make a Map in Illustrator” and “Design with Swirls and Flourishes” tutorials to be very useful. And best of all, the steps are simple and easy to follow.

2) Isn’t this photo gorgeous? I saw it at ilovetypography.com (a website “devoted to fonts, typefaces, and all things typographical” that you should need to check out). Now I want a wax sealer. Click on the photo to visit Andy Clymer’s flickr account.

3) Speaking of type, you should also visit vimeo.com to see “sturdy typography, motion and kinetic type explorations, and other typographical niceness.” Basically, there are a ton of videos of type! It’s a great distraction, and a great way to put off that American Culture assignment (I’m speaking from experience here). Make sure to check out the Technologic and School of Rock videos.

4) Alexander McQueen has a line at Target! I haven’t bought anything from his line (yet), but from what I can see at Target.com, the pieces seem to be of high-quality construction. I’m not very fond of some of the pieces, but the Alexander McQueen® for Target Studded Denim Jacket in Smoke looks really nice. I love the dramatic collar.
